Meet Ceaser! Ceaser is a Catt County Spca pup looking for his fur-ever home. Ceaser was turned in by his owners because they no longer had time for him so basically they didn't want him anymore. Ceaser is a Sharpei mix, adult male around 5 years.
Ceaser is very friendly with all people. He loves to be outside enjoying the grass between his toes. He gets really excited when he see's others out on walks... I think he wants to make sure that they don't get to have more fun then him. He is a very good boy and listens really well. If you look into his big eyes thru all those cute wrinkles you just might fall in love...all it takes it one look. Please think about adopting...lets not let Ceaser spend his first Christmas in a shelter. Please remember to share my tale in the hopes of finding me a home...sharing is caring!
Dog of the Week - Ceaser
Cat of the Week - Jazzy
My name is Jazzy and I have quite a story. First - I can't believe that I'm alive to tell my story. I have the SPCA in Catt County and Vet Care of Cuba to thank for saving my life. They really did! I was found near death in Jan, 2014. I had been outside for who knows how long in the snow and ice with frigid temperatures. And I was just a baby and all by myself. Someone saw me and called the SPCA. They came to get me and brought me back to the shelter. The SPCA people looked really worried but I didn't have any energy to figure out why. They immediately took me to see a veterinarian. She also looked very concerned. I heard the words "frostbite", "gangrene", and "amputation". But I simply wanted to rest. After giving me some medicine for a couple of days (apparently to try and fight some type of nasty infection) I underwent surgery to remove the areas of infection which included one of my hind legs. I heard the veterinarian say that my pelvis had previously been crushed along with one or both of my hind legs (I can't remember) and the infection was worse than she had suspected. But after feeling groggy for a couple of days I couldn't believe that most of my pain seemed to be gone! These incredible humans had saved my life. I then had the privilege to spend a couple of weeks in an amazing foster home and that really helped me to recuperate. I'm now back at the SPCA and ready to find a forever home! I have no restrictions and they want me to move around alot to help my only hind leg gain some strength. They said I don't need to be labeled special needs - they just want to find a person that will give me lots of special attention and love. Would you please consider being my special human?
UPDATES AND EVENTS
Dad's concern for pets goes beyond the development of healthy foods. We have created "Have a Heart" program to help provide homeless animals with food, shelter, and loving care. You can be a part of the program too. Just save proof-of-purchase UPC codes from ANY Dad's pet food and send it to the Spca In Cattaraugus County. We will redeem them for money from Dad's which can be used to care for animals in need.

This is Whisker Wonderland and on the opposite side is Hotel California. Hotel California is for shy/semi feral cats.
They are part of the new Margaret Mahar Cat Room. These new spaces will give many SPCA cats the opportunity to leave their cages behind and enjoy a large area to roam and play.
However before a cat can frolic in these new cage-free areas he or she must be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and test negative for FIV/Felv. To accomplish this we are targeting to spay/neuter 20 SPCA cats during March, 2014 in order to move them from cages into the new cage free areas. However at a cost of $77 (Operation Pets raised their prices) each we need sponsors to donate and make it a reality for an SPCA kitty to leave his/her cage behind. Please consider sponsoring an SPCA cat to be spayed/neutered!
Below are some of the cats who really would love to wander freely in Whisker Wonderland, because we hate to have all that space and no cats in it.
